The WRC collects, from affiliate colleges and universities, a list of factories where each school’s logo goods are produced. (Logo goods are sweatshirts, t-shirts, baseball caps, coffee mugs, etc. that bear college and university names and logos.) The colleges and universities obtain these lists from their licensee corporations. These are companies that pay fees to individual schools in exchange for the right to sell products bearing that school’s logo – the licensees than have the goods manufactured in one or more factories, often overseas. This database is designed to provide all interested individuals and organizations with access to this list of factories, along with information concerning which licensee corporations are using a particular factory, where the factory is located, what type of goods are being produced there, and which college and university logos are being placed on those goods. The factory disclosure list is updated quarterly, to the extent that the licensee corporations provide the necessary information in a timely fashion.
